A New Tradition
Last year after Christmas I went to Hobby Lobby and bought two little trees on clearance that the boys could put up in their rooms, along with some little decorations.
Now they are in one room, but both trees are in there and for the month of December, they serve as a nightlight until Mom and Dad go to bed. I wish I could remember where online I saw this idea so I could give credit where credit is due. The boys love having their own little piece of the season in their rooms, and I don’t get nearly as much harassment about having “boring” white lights on the big tree. 🙂
We have had the talk about Christmas being a potentially dangerous time what with all the fragile, flammable and hazardous things around. Two nights ago I forgot to unplug these trees when I went to bed, so they stayed on all night long. When the kids woke up in the morning, they came to me immediately and said, “Mom, the trees are still on but don’t worry, there’s no fire.”

…because if there *were* a fire, Cameron would not be there to tell you about it.You could find him out next to the mailbox.
