Before the Food Network, There Was JULIA

This past Wednesday, a few friends and I went to a late show of “Julie and Julia.” It was quite lovely and of course put me in the mood to do some cooking.

Also, before the movie there was this preview, which made me want to dye my hair blonde, buy a big house, and adopt ten children:

  1. I felt the same way when I left Julie and Julia. Really made me want to cook my way through a cookbook. I'm contemplating that undertaking though I'm quite sure it would never be "Mastering the Art…"And, I was almost in tears watching that preview. But please, don't dye your hair blonde…

  2. Just don't read the book – it's pretty bad/depressing – lots of language and I gave it up before I got to the part where she has an affair… I'm glad the movie version is better! And yep, that preview looks amazing. Sandra's back!! And your hair is kind of blonde now isn't it? It's brainy blonde, rather than bottle blonde. 🙂

  3. R, I did read the book a couple of years ago. The language was rough, but I have no recollection of her having had an affair…maybe I blocked it out? The chapter about lobsters had me laughing until tears rolled down my cheeks! I think the main thing that makes the movie better is more of JULIA's life. I loved it!And I was a bottle blonde for a good portion of my life, until after I was married 🙂 People have a hard time believing that…maybe I should post a picture of blonde Kelly sometime.

  4. Yes! That preview. I was a pooly mess. I can't WAIT . . . I hope the movie is as good as the preview, because you know THAT is always a disappointment. anyway, thanks for updating the blog. hooray on a concert time!!!it was fun to see you . . . can't wait to see you again! 🙂
